Main thing is ... I don't use a 35ml camera ... oh my god .. shock horror....
I used to use a Sony DSC H9. Generally known as a bridge camera. One that is the next step up from a compact camera - the sort that fits into your pocket. Up until it got stolen in a burglary.
Well I still use one of those as well. I used to always carry a Canon Ixus 75 until it died; this was my only camera for a couple of years and I got some of the most amazing results with it. I would advise anyone to always carry a camera; you never know what you might come across..
The thing that most people assume is that you need a "proper camera" to take good photos. Bollox. I think my results speak for themselves and it makes you have to work that little bit harder when you know that the camera is NOT going to do it for you.
I know of people who have good 35ml cameras and take appalling photos. I also don't use Photoshop. I've tried. I can't get on with it. I find it complicated and way too much stuff to remember. So I use stuff you can download for free off the internet. Mainly Photoscape. I also have dabbled with Irfan and Gimp. Between these, I can do almost everything Photoshop does.
I have had my photos in at least three publications over the years and been used for a poster advertising an independent science fiction TV show.
other stuff by me...
This is a current project all to do with the history and changing face of Leeds. Take a peek.. kind of a curiosity hobby that has got a bit out of hand...
